From management company to advisory practice

Contracting NV was founded as the management company of a family business. What began as the stewardship of one company grew into advice for many others — first for entrepreneurs nearby, then well beyond.

That origin explains a good deal. We have sat on the other side of the table ourselves: with the bank, with the tax authorities, with a family that could not agree on the succession. It makes our advice more practical and our reading of risk more realistic.

Experience that cannot be rushed

Over the decades we have seen boom and deep crisis, acquisitions that worked and acquisitions that should never have gone ahead, paper ledgers and fully automated administrations. More than 70 years of combined experience mostly means this: few situations are still unfamiliar to us.

That breadth is deliberate. A director's tax question often turns out to be a structural question. A liquidity problem is sometimes a process problem. Because we command all five areas ourselves, you do not have to make the connection.

Background and expertise

Where that experience concretely comes from.

Forensic audit
More than 25 years teaching forensic audit at Karel de Grote Hogeschool in Antwerp. That background shapes how we look at processes, figures and risk: not only whether it is correct, but whether it can be verified.
Insolvency and reorganisation
More than thirty insolvency and reorganisation files handled, from the first warning signal through to wind-down or restart.
Crisis management
At the helm with you when a business has to act quickly and the usual governance reflexes fall short.
Internal control
Companies and organisations guided through designing and implementing internal control procedures, down to training the people who work with them.
Mergers and acquisitions
Guidance through mergers and acquisitions: valuation, due diligence, negotiation and the period after closing, where the real work begins.
Digital transformation and AI
Putting the finance function on a digital footing, and working out how AI fits into it safely and constructively — without giving up confidentiality or control over the output.
